The St. Luke’s Cornwall Health System Foundation is pleased to announce its 2021 Gala Honorees: Orange County Executive, Steve Neuhaus will be receiving the Community and National Commitment Award, and the hospital’s very own Orthopedics, Spine and Podiatry Service Line will be honored with the Outstanding Caregiver Award. The honorees were recently celebrated at a reception at Blu Pointe, generously sponsored by Unitex and hosted by the Bonura Hospitality Group.

Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus has worked to bring significant transformation and growth to the county, from infrastructure, jobs, tax reductions, military service and much more. Steve was the driving force in bringing LEGOLAND to New York, specifically to Orange County which has generated tax cuts and an extensive amount of jobs. Steve and his team were an incredible support during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring transparent, open communication, along with numerous of resources provided to organizations including MSLC. In recent months, the County Executive and his team have worked tirelessly to provide thousands of vaccinations to community members throughout the county.

Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall’s Orthopedics, Spine and Podiatry Service Line has grown rapidly throughout the years. The orthopedic team added new technologies, implemented new cutting-edge protocols in relation to pain management, reduction in length of stay and overall improved care to the community. Pictured above representing the Orthopedics, Spine and Podiatry Service Line is Dr. Gina Del Savio, Chief Medical Officer and Orthopedic Hand Surgeon, as well as members of the orthopedic team including Dr. Esteban Cuartas, Dr. Barry Hyman, Dr. Louis Cappa, Dr. Jeffrey Degen, Dr. John Uhorchak, Dr. Archit Patel, Dr. Matthew Gordon, Orthopedic Service Line Director Bonnie Heal and Patient Navigator Nicole Stevens.

“We are incredibly proud and excited to honor the dedication and commitment of Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus, who has been a dear friend and outstanding supporter of our community hospital and the population we serve, said Joan Cusack-McGuirk, MSLC Chief Executive Officer. “We are also honored to recognize The Orthopedics, Spine and Podiatry Service Line. Thank you all for what you do every single day for our community and the patients we are so privileged to serve. It should be known that this year’s honorees were intended to be honored in 2020, and so graciously stepped aside, suggesting that MSLC employees be honored instead for their heroic work throughout the pandemic. The 2021 Gala is recognizing a truly selfless and caring group of individuals.”

This year’s “Liberty Ball” Gala will be held on Saturday, September 18 at the Riverside Ballroom adjacent to Blu Pointe in Newburgh.
