Newburgh, NY – St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital (SLCH) Board of Trustee Chair Michelle F. Rider, CPA, Esq., was recently recognized as a 2016 Distinguished Trustee Award recipient at the United Hospital Fund’s Tribute annual luncheon. The celebration recognized 28 Trustees for the dedication and leadership to hospitals in the Hudson Valley, New York City, Connecticut and New Jersey.

Ms. Rider has served as a member of the SLCH Board of Trustees since 2009, and has been in her current role since January 2015; she previously served as vice chair from 2013-14. She is also a past member of the SLCH Foundation Board of Directors.  Ms. Rider is a senior partner at Catania, Mahon, Milligram & Rider, PLLC.

Ms. Rider played a key role in identifying the Montefiore Health System as SLCH’s strategic partner, which was finalized in January 2016. Working in partnership with the SLCH management team and board leadership, she helped to lead the search for the right organization for SLCH to team up with.

“Michelle has provided excellent leadership and guidance to keep SLCH at the forefront of the changes associated with healthcare reform,” said Joan Cusack-McGuirk, SLCH Interim President and CEO. “She has been instrumental in bringing our partnership with Montefiore Health System to fruition, has worked diligently with the SLCH leadership team to grow current processes, and bring SLCH to the next level of community based care. All of us at SLCH are appreciative for Michelle’s service and leadership.”

This is the 26th annual United Hospital Fund Distinguished Trustee Award.
