SLCH Auxiliary Helps Local Students Get Dressed for Prom

Hospital

Newburgh, NY – The St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital (SLCH) Auxiliary once again helped students get ready for the upcoming prom season by participating in Prom Fest 2015. In collaboration with Mount Saint Mary College, the Newburgh Free Academy Key Club and NFA Student Council, the annual event provided reasonably-priced prom attire for local students.

More than 100 dresses were sold inside MSMC's Hudson Hall Auditorium on Saturday, March 28. The remaining inventory will be available for Newburgh Free Academy students until their 2015 prom, and then be stored to help provide items for next year's event.

Donation boxes were placed throughout Newburgh and the surrounding communities from February 6 through March 20. Approximately 900 pieces of gently-used formal wear were collected.

Proceeds raised through the sale will go towards a scholarship for a Mount Saint Mary student that is currently studying in a medical field.

In addition to the organizing groups, local business played a key role in Prom Fest 2015's success. Durant's Party Rentals, Exclusive Cleaners & Laundry, Inc., Guardian Self Storage, My Valet Cleaners and DJ Brian Stylez all assisted with or donated services to the event.
