SLCH Recognizes EMS Staff

Newburgh, NY – St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital (SLCH) will dedicate May 19 – May 25 to recognize the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) professionals and their commitment to provide the best emergency care to our community. EMS workers offer around the clock, acute medical care to all citizens, working to improve health to all who need it.

SLCH will hold daily breakfasts, lunches and overnight refreshments to all EMS professionals who visit their Newburgh and Cornwall, NY locations. Each attendee will have a daily chance to win one of sixteen Visa gift cards along with a flat screen TV, presented as a small token of appreciation for all the hard work EMS professionals provide to our hospitals.

“Our EMS community is a truly extraordinary group of individuals. Providing emergency services around the clock, they are one of the most important pieces to any emergency situation in our community,” said Dan Maughan, RN, BSN, MBA, MSN, FNP-C, Director of the Emergency Services, Respiratory, , and Shift Operations at SLCH. “We are delighted to take a full week to show how much EMS means to SLCH!”

EMS workers are composed of Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s), Dispatchers, Nurses, Physicians, Researchers, Educators, Administrators, and Supervisors. EMS professionals are there when personal, community or national tragedy strike, providing medical assistance in crucial situations. They also offer medical transportation to patients with illness and injuries that prevent them from transporting themselves.
