Littman Cancer Center Celebrates Survivors

Newburgh, NY – Members of the St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital (SLCH) Oncology Services team recently welcomed more than 50 people for its annual Littman Cancer Center Survivors’ Brunch. The event, part of the hospital’s celebration of National Cancer Survivor Month, honored and recognized the patients, their families, caregivers and treatment team.

Since its alignment with the Montefiore Health System, SLCH and the Littman Cancer Center has worked to grow the scope of local cancer treatment services. This expansion includes the addition of Dr. Shana Coplowitz, Medical Director of Radiation Oncology. Through her affiliation with Montefiore and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Coplowitz and the team of physicians, nurses and technologists can provide patients in the community access to cancer care close to home.

“We are awed by this group’s bravery,” said Joan Cusack-McGuirk, SLCH President and CEO. “Their spirit and tenacity, along with the love and support shown by their caregivers inspires us all.”

The Littman Cancer Center, located at SLCH’s Cornwall campus, is accredited by the Committee on Cancer and offers a full array of treatment options, including radiation oncology, American College of Radiology accredited radiology services, an infusion center, patient navigation, survivorship plans, and continued collaboration with the patient’s full medical team.
