SLCHSF Continues Scholarship Program In 2016

Newburgh, NY – Applications for the St. Luke’s Cornwall Health System Foundation (SLCSHF) annual scholarship program are now available for graduating local high school students who are entering an accredited university or community college. In order to be considered for one of these opportunities, applicants must submit their information by April 15.


The Albert M. Berkelhamer Memorial Scholarship is a $1,000 award made possible through the generosity of family and friends of Albert M. Berkelhamer. Applicants must have completed 50 hours of community service at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital and demonstrate scholastic achievement.


The Michael L. Pappis, M.D. Memorial Scholarship is given to a student planning on pursuing a career in the medical field, as well as demonstrating scholastic achievement, and actively participating in community service and extra-curricular activities. This $1,500 scholarship was established by the SLCH medical staff and the Pappis Family as a lasting memorial tribute to Dr. Michael Lukas Pappis.

The St. Luke’s Cornwall Health System Foundation Auxiliary Scholarship is open to graduating high school students who are the son or daughter of a St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital employee and/or an active hospital volunteer. Candidates for these two $1,000 scholarships, made possible by the generosity of the SLCHSF Auxiliary, must plan to pursue a career in a health-related field and demonstrate scholastic achievement.
