Dr. John McLaughlin Named Medical Director of SLCH Center for Joint Replacement

Newburgh, NY – Dr. John McLaughlin, a member of the medical staff at Orthopedic Associates of Dutchess County, has been appointed as Medical Director of the St. Luke’s Cornwall Center for Joint Replacement. His responsibilities include providing programmatic oversight to ensure continuing delivery of high quality care to this growing patient population.

Dr. McLaughlin is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. He specializes in the treatment of arthritis of the knee, hip and shoulder, including total joint replacement, as well as sports medicine, including arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction and fracture management. He is active in the local community, serving for several years as the team physician for the Cornwall High School Green Dragons. In 2015, he was the team physician for the Hudson Valley Fort of the Fall Experimental Football League (FXFL).

A 1993 graduate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. McLaughlin completed his residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and Total Joint/Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the American Association of Knee and Hip Surgeons. He has authored and co-authored several articles in peer reviewed orthopedic journals, including the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and the Journal of Shoulder Surgery.

The St. Luke’s Cornwall Center for Joint Replacement is dedicated to providing comprehensive orthopedic needs of the Hudson Valley. In conjunction with primary care and orthopedic physicians, the program uses a team approach to diagnose, treat and alleviate joint pain with the goal of restoring quality of life for the residents of the Hudson Valley.

In addition to the Center for Total Joint Replacement that performs total hip, knee and shoulder replacement, orthopedic specialties include sports medicine, foot, ankle, hand and spine issues.
