Newburgh, NY – St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital (SLCH) Board of Trustee member Patrick O. Ortland was recently recognized with the 2015 Distinguished Trustee Award at the United Hospital Fund's Tribute to Hospital Trustees. The celebration recognizes the dedication and leadership of the volunteers who govern non-for-profit hospitals.

Ortland joined the SLCH Board of Trustees in 2007 and served as Chairman from January 2013 until January of this year. He currently serves on the Finance and Governance Committees and is the chair of the Strategic Planning Committee.

"St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital is thankful for Pat's service and leadership" said Robert S. Ross, SLCH President and CEO. "Throughout his tenure, Pat has served with dignity and dedication to SLCH and the community, helping to best position the hospital for the future. His continued commitment to further the mission of the Hospital has been nothing short of extraordinary."

During his time as Board Chairman, Ortland led the group through the development of a three-year Strategic Plan that helped guide the hospital to several awards and recognitions, including the Joint Commission Top Performer Award and the Healthgrades Patient Safety Award, helping SLCH become the only hospital in New York State with that designation in each of the last five years.
