Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Welcomes Its First Baby of 2026

Newburgh, NY – Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall (MSLC) proudly welcomed its first baby of the New Year on Thursday, January 1, at 12:07 a.m., marking a joyful start to 2026.

Baby girl, Elora Burks, weighing 6 pounds, 5.4 ounces, and 19 ½ inches long, arrived just minutes after the clock struck midnight, becoming the first newborn of the year at MSLC’s Kaplan Family Birthing Center.

Both mother and baby are doing well. The hospital’s Birthing Center team were on hand to ensure a safe delivery and a healthy start for the newest Newburgh resident.
