Read about Amanda Reed, a patient of Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall’s Bloodless Medicine & Patient Blood Management (PBM) Program and Birthing Center.
My experience at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall was nothing short of amazing, and it all began with my birthing story. After doing some research, I discovered Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall’s Bloodless Medicine & Patient Blood Management (PBM) Program and Birthing Center, and it immediately stood out to me. This was a huge factor in my decision to choose this hospital. I also felt comforted by the familiar faces I recognized from past emergency visits.
I was able to experience the best of both worlds, a natural birth in a hospital setting, and I had complete confidence that I was in the best hands with the incredible nurses and doctors. The entire team was not only knowledgeable but also compassionate and attentive, making my stay feel very welcome and comfortable.
My journey started with an induction, and everything was progressing normally until delivery. After my son was born, I was told I was experiencing a post-partum hemorrhage. At that moment, I did not fully realize the severity, because my care team was so calm and quick to respond. They used the new Jada® System device, along with other medications, to stop the bleeding and ensure my safety.
Fast forward to today, I am so grateful to say I’ve recovered wonderfully, and my son is healthy and thriving. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The level of care, attention, and support I received was beyond anything I could have hoped for during life changing experience. I’m thankful to the staff at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall for making such a challenging experience feel manageable and reassuring. I will always look back on this time with gratitude for the exceptional care that made all the difference.
