Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall has resumed elective surgeries and outpatient procedures.

Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall (MSLC) is pleased to have resumed elective surgeries and outpatient procedures. At MSLC, under the guidelines of the CDC and the New York State Department of Health, we’ve implemented a series of new processes to keep you safe. These include:

  • All staff are screened daily for symptoms of COVID-19.
  • All patients and staff entering any MSLC facility must wear a face mask at all times.
  • All patients will be screened telephonically 24 hours prior to any scheduled procedure or appointment, then screened the day of their procedure prior to entering the facility.
  • Patients should be dropped off at the time of their scheduled procedure or appointment, to limit wait times and co-mingling with other individuals seeking medical care at MSLC.
  • All patients presenting for surgical procedures will be tested for COVID-19 prior to arrival to the screening unit.
  • Surgical patients experiencing signs or symptoms of COVID-19 will have the next steps determined by their individual physician based on medical necessity.
  • Any patient who tests positive for COVID-19 who requires a procedure will be kept isolated from other patients, including recovery, with special UV treatment decontamination of all used spaces upon departure
  • Outpatient, non-surgical patients experiencing any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 will be contacted by the their physician and appointment(s) will be rescheduled.
  • Our team is happy to coordinate FaceTiming opportunities with caregivers during their loved one's stay.
  • All waiting areas have been redesigned to allow for safe, social distancing.
  • MSLC is utilizing the most advanced technologies to decontaminate our facilities, including the Surfacide UV System with a proven track record of safeguarding against germs and other pathogens.

Healthcare facilities across the nation, including Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall (MSLC) are seeing an alarming decrease in necessary Emergency Department (ED) visits. While there has been a push for the nation to “Stay at Home” and “Stop the Spread”, these initiatives were never intended to impede access to emergency care for those that need it.

MSLC is committed to your health and safety. Do not let fear of COVID-19 or any other infectious source prevent you or a loved one from seeking care when it is needed most.
